Jean Claude Poilevey, owner of Le Bouchon and La Sardine is celebrating 50 years of cooking! He began his apprenticeship at age 14 in Oyonnax, France in the Jura mountain region next to Switzerland. After cooking in France, he moved to London for 3 years and then settled in Chicago in 1968. To commemorate, La Sardine will be offering a “retro” menu every Thursday. Another inspiration for these dishes is the latest Julia Child resurgence. The dishes in her original Mastering the Art of French Cooking are the very same dishes Jean Claude learned as a young man and still loves today. To continue celebrating Jean Claude Poilevey’s 50 years of cooking, La Sardine has extended the Thursday night “Retro” menu with 4 more weeks of classic French dishes. Below are the menus: |
